Dr. C’s Top Reads

Over the years, I have seen various struggles my patients have gone through to find a healthy diet. With my years of experience helping patients on their weight-loss and nutrition journey, I have discovered tools that often bring great help. What these tools have in common is their recognition of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Filled with knowledge and an abundance of helpful tips, these three books are all wonderful guides to living a healthy lifestyle most patients strive for.

The Longevity Diet

In The Longevity Diet,  Valter Longo provides 30 simple recipes for an everyday diet based on Longo’s five pillars of longevity. The culmination of 25 years of global research on aging, nutrition, and disease, this unique combination of an easy-to-follow “everyday” diet and short periods of fasting-mimicking diet (FMD) is the key to living to a healthy old age.

FMD does away with the misery of fasting while you reap all the health benefits of a calorie-restrictive diet. It avoids the negative stressors of starving yourself, such as low energy and sleeplessness. The Longevity Diet is Proven to help you lose weight, reduce abdominal fat and prevent age related muscle and bone loss, and more!

Lifespan: Why We Age and Why We Don’t Have To

In LifeSpan, David Sinclair offers a provocative insight into the concept of aging. Purely based on research, he shows how human life can be prolonged as against the popular opinion that aging is inevitable. The book opens up our minds to the newer possibilities of living longer lives. For David Sinclair, aging is a disease; it is also a curable one. It is this cure to aging and its attendant maladies that he explains in the pages of LifeSpan. If you, like any other person, would want to live a longer, healthier life, LifeSpan is essentially a guide to the kind of life you desire. In simpler terms, it is medicine built on beautiful prose. It serves the dual purpose of feeding your curiosity and, at the same time, preparing you for a better life.
